Last season saw these sides play each other twice, with the Quetta Gladiators winning by five wickets in Karachi, but it was the Kings who won the reverse fixture in Rawalpindi by seven wickets.

Karachi Kings are fourth in the points tally before Wednesday’s fixtures, winning two points from the first two matches, but have a negative run rate of 1.417. Both fixtures were played in Karachi.
They started with a four-wicket win over Multan Sultans in a high-scoring fixture. The Sultans scored 234 for 3, but the target was chased by the Kings in 19.2 overs. In the second match, they conceded 201 against Lahore Qalandars but folded out for 136, losing by 65 runs.

The Kings played the same team for both matches but could look at replacing Adam Milne with Aamer Jamal or Mohammad Nabi. Ben McDermott may have to wait for his chance, unless they extend their batting line-up and decide to make their bowling entirely local.
Quetta Gladiators Form
Quetta also have two points from two matches but are slightly better in NRR with a positive 0.025. They are third in the standings before Wednesday’s matches.
They started with a stunning 80-run win over Peshawar Zalmi at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where fifties from Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen gave them a score of 216, before Abrar Ahmed stifled the Zalmi with 4 for 42.
The Gladiators came crashing down to earth almost immediately, as they conceded 219 to the Lahore Qalandars in the second match. Abrar (2 for 33) was once again among the wickets. The batters failed to make it count and folded for 140 in 16.2 overs.
