This is almost a one-sided affair as far as historical records are concerned. The Royals played the Titans seven times and lost six, while winning just one.

Earlier in the season, the teams met in Ahmedabad when Gujarat won comfortably by 58 runs. Sai Sudharsan (82 off 53 balls) led the batting unit for Gujarat as they posted 217 for 6. Prasidh Krishna (3 for 24) looked unplayable that day, while Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore took two wickets each as the Royals folded out for 159, despite a fighting knock by Shimron Hetmyer (52 off 32).

After 44 matches, Rajasthan Royals are ninth in the points table with four points (W2, L7). They are only above Chennai due to a better run rate, while the top four teams are at least seven points away.

They lost to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 11 runs on Thursday to make it five defeats in a row. Incidentally, this sequence started with a loss to the Titans in the reverse fixture!

Yashasvi Jaiswal (356 runs, SR 148.95, 4x50) remains the lone shining gloss with the bat for the Royals. The bowlers have all struggled, each conceding more than nine runs per over, with Wanindu Hasaranga (ten) being the highest wicket-taker.

Gujarat Titans Form

Gujarat Titans are top of the table after 44 matches with 12 points (W6, L2) and a better run rate than Delhi and Bengaluru. Their only losses have come against Punjab and Lucknow.

They are coming off a 39-run win over Kolkata, which marked their third win out of four trips this season. Another win here could all but guarantee a playoff spot.

Sai Sudharsan (417 runs, SR 152.18) and Jos Buttler (356 runs) remain their best batters, while Prasidh Krishna (16), Mohammed Siraj and Sai Kishore (12 each) have been leading their bowling.

The Titans may look to test the skillset of Dasun Shanaka or Gerald Coetzee, although their playing XI looks settled.
