While losing the first match has become a tradition for the Indians, a score of 155 for 9 batting first didn’t help them out. Tilak Varma (31) was the best batter for the Mumbai team.

The chase was anchored well by Rachin Ravindra (65 off 45) as Chennai aced the tricky ground conditions. New spinner Vignesh Puthur (3 for 32) sparkled for Mumbai, but they didn’t have enough bite elsewhere.
