On a spinning track, Mumbai could only post 155 for 9 in their 20 overs. No player scored more than 31, while Noor Ahmad (4 for 18) and Khaleel Ahmed (3 for 29) led Chennai’s bowling unit.

The chase could have been trickier, but Rachin Ravindra (65* off 45) held firm to lead the chase. With Ruturaj Gaikwad (53 off 26) lending enough support, the Chennai side chased the score down in the last over.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Form

After finishing fourth in the regular season last year, RCB started this year with a seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders away in Kolkata.

Kolkata posted 174 for 8 batting first, with only one player hitting a fifty. The biggest impact was had by Krunal Pandya (3 for 29), who stifled RCB in the middle overs.

They had no problems in the chase, as Phil Salt (56 off 31) and Virat Kohli (59* off 36) went about their task with ease. Any potential hiccups were brushed aside by Rajat Patidar’s brief cameo (34 off 16).
